How Often Should You Get a Haircut?

Skin and high fades look best refreshed every 2 to 3 weeks. Tapers and low fades hold for 3 to 4 weeks. Longer scissor cuts can go 4 to 8 weeks. Beards look shaped with a sculpt every 2 to 4 weeks, and an edge up can stretch a fade by about a week.

Short, sharp styles

Skin fades and high fades show growth fastest because the contrast is the whole look. Every two to three weeks keeps them crisp. Many regulars at Original Walker's book every two weeks like clockwork.

Tapers and low fades

Three to four weeks. The edges soften but the shape holds.

Longer hair

Four to eight weeks, depending on how quickly you notice the shape slipping. Regular trims keep ends healthy even while you grow it out.

Beards

A sculpt every two to four weeks keeps the shape intentional, especially while growing one out.

Stretch it with an edge up

A $25 edge up cleans the hairline, neck and ears in about 15 minutes and buys you another week between full cuts.
